The TalkTools® Jiggler® is a vibrating oral facial massager designed for use in oral motor therapy, feeding therapy, and speech-language pathology. Each Jiggler® uses vibration delivered to the jaw and lip musculature to increase sensory awareness, reduce tonic jaw muscle tightening (“fixing”), and satisfy the need for TMJ stimulation as a replacement for negative oral habits. The Jiggler® line includes three combo sets — Unicorn & Sloth, Dragon & Frog, and Shark & Turtle — with each animal shaped and textured to meet specific oral motor goals. Optional Jiggler™ Puppets in four textures can be added to extend the sensory range of each tool.

What Is the TalkTools® Jiggler®?
The TalkTools® Jiggler® is a battery-powered vibrating oral facial massager designed for clinical and home use in oral motor therapy, feeding therapy, and speech-language pathology. Its primary function is to deliver graded vibration to the muscles of the jaw and lips, accomplishing three interconnected therapeutic goals that all six Jiggler® animals share: increasing sensory awareness in the jaw and lip musculature, reducing jaw “fixing” (tonic muscle bracing that interferes with graded movement), and satisfying the need for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) stimulation in a controlled, therapeutic way.
Beyond these shared functions, each of the six individual Jiggler® animals is designed with a distinct mouthpiece shape, tip profile, and surface texture making it appropriate for specific oral motor goals beyond the shared baseline — including lip rounding, lip closure, lip protrusion, tongue retraction, texture acceptance, spoon feeding introduction, and targeted speech sound facilitation.
What Is Jaw “Fixing” and Why Does It Matter?
Jaw “fixing” refers to the habitual tightening or bracing of the jaw musculature that many clients with oral motor dysfunction develop as a compensatory strategy. When the jaw is fixed, the graded, dynamic jaw movement required for functional speech and feeding becomes impossible. Vibration delivered along the jawbone and to the lip musculature can reduce this tonic bracing, releasing the jaw for more fluid, responsive movement — this is why the Jiggler® is used as a pre-exercise preparation tool rather than an exercise in itself.
Tools that address sensory regulation and reduce tonic muscle patterns — like the Jiggler® — are most effective when used before exercises that require active, graded muscle control. The Jiggler® does not build strength; it reduces the interference that prevents existing strength from being accessed and used functionally.
