A GLANCE AT THE PREMIERE OF OUR NEW TOTS WORKSHOP

The premiere of our brand-new live workshop, “Functional Assessment and Remediation of Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTs),” instructed by tongue-tie experts Robyn Merkel-Walsh, MA, CCC-SLP and Lori Overland, MS, CCC-SLP, C/NDT, CLC was held on Saturday, January 27 in Iselin, New Jersey.

With 87 people in attendance, the workshop was a great success that enlightened and inspired audience members. Feedback from attendees raved about the instructors, the topic, and the useful, instantly-applicable knowledge that they acquired.

“What are Frena???”

AUDIENCE FEEDBACK

  • “This course was extremely valuable in many ways. It greatly improved my competence in identifying TOTS (e.g., buccal, lingual, labial) and treating patients with tethered oral tissues! I strongly recommend this to all!”
  • “I learned so much and I came away with so many ideas for clients. this really opened my eyes to something I didn’t really know much about. I have since joined Facebook groups about TOTs and have made connections with dentists, doctors, parents, and lactation consultants with prior knowledge of TOTs to use what I learned.”
  • “Truly great and I am SOOOOO incredibly grateful we got to have both presenters. I had not heard Robyn yet and was very impressed.”
  • “This course was extremely informative. I feel that I was immediately able to use what I learned.
  • “The course content was extremely relevant and useful to our scope of practice, both in the infant and child population. I appreciated the education on structure and function, how to assess if a TOT is impacting function, and the strategies used for treatment pre and post op. The PowerPoint provided was clear and easy to reference. Overall I felt this was a great course!”
  • “Great, very easy to use information.”
  • “Amazing workshop. So much knowledge and helpful for so many of my clients.
  • As an OT I found this course very informative. The majority of the content was applicable to my practice and I will be able to use it to identify TOT’s and advise families on the next course of action.”
  • “Excellent course! This information should be a requirement in graduate programs!”
  • “It was a great course, I learned a great deal and even used the information I learned on Monday at work!
  • “The practicum exercises were very functional and can be used in every day treatment.”
  • “Having both instructors was wonderful!! Their manner with delivery of content and questions is beautiful: it is a gift to be able to artfully teach to newbies and experienced folks with the same content and without assumptions or judgement.”
  • “I particularly appreciated the info on breastfeeding. Excellent slides! I did appreciate the review of use of materials for therapy along with new ideas for which to use tools.
  • “All the ready to do techniques immediately.”
