Itsy Plate is a divided silicone plate designed for early self-feeding success. Four open, triangular sections support picky eaters or food explorers. Volume lines help with portioning, curved walls guide the scoop motion, and a strong suction base keeps the plate in place on most high-chair trays and tables. The plate is also dishwasher and microwave-safe.

What is the TalkTools® Itsy Plate?

The Itsy™ Plate is a clinic-friendly, parent-approved plate. It helps babies and toddlers learn to feed themselves independently. The round shape feels like a standard plate. It also builds confidence. These include sectioned compartments, volume lines, curved walls, and a sturdy suction base.

How clinicians use the Itsy™ Plate

In feeding-focused OPT carryover, clinicians use Itsy to structure portions, support scooping mechanics, and pace mealtimes (you can rotate the plate for sequential eating). It’s part of the Itsy self-feeding line alongside the Itsy Cup and Itsy Spoons.

Typical therapy goals

Typical goals with the Itsy Plate include:

  • Building early self-feeding independence
  • Encouraging sensory acceptance by keeping foods separated
  • Promoting efficient scooping without plate sliding or chasing
  • Supporting portion awareness through the built-in volume lines

What’s included

  • 1 Itsy Plate (LFGB platinum-grade silicone) with integrated suction base and 4 sectioned compartments.

How it works (in OPT)

Place the plate, engage suction, and portion foods using volume lines. Use the curved walls to cue “push and scoop” motions, and rotate the plate to present foods in an order that reduces overwhelm or supports sequential eating. Sections help separate flavors for selective eaters or mix-and-match for explorers.

Benefits & use cases

  • Stays put: strong suction base limits spills and plate chasing.
  • Supports portioning & pacing: built-in volume lines.
  • Helps picky eaters: 4 open triangular sections keep foods separate.
  • Easier scooping: curved walls guide the utensil.
  • Clinic to home: fits most standard high chairs; durable silicone for daily use.

Who it’s for

SLPs/SLTs, OTs, and caregivers supporting babies and young children learning self-feeding—especially those who benefit from portion cues, less mess, and gentle sensory structure. Use with developmentally appropriate foods and adult supervision.

How to use (quick start)

  1. First, clean and dry the surface. Press down to engage the suction base, and check that the plate is firmly sealed.
  2. Next, portion foods using the volume lines. To start, choose soft and easy textures.
  3. After that, coach your child to “push, then scoop” against the curved walls. As a result, they learn the motion with practice.
  4. Next, rotate the plate to present one section at a time. This helps you support slower, calmer pacing.
  5. As skills grow, pair the plate with Itsy Spoons or the Itsy Cup. Over time, this encourages more self-feeding and independence.
  6. Finally, always supervise your child during use. If they show fatigue or stress, stop the activity.

    Care & safety

    • The plate is dishwasher safe and microwave safe. It resists odors and staining. It is made from LFGB platinum-grade silicone and is free of BPA, BPS, PVC, and phthalates. The performance range is 32–212°F (0–100°C).
    • In addition, the plate fits most standard high-chair trays and many tables. Therefore, always check that the suction is secure before each use.
    • This product is not a toy. For safety, inspect it regularly. Stop using the product if you see any damage.

    Key takeaways

    • Divided, suction training plate that boosts self-feeding success.
    • 4 sections, volume lines, and curved walls simplify portioning and scooping.
    • Safe, durable LFGB silicone; dishwasher/microwave safe.
